ROSEWOOD publishes last newsletter edition
With the final conference of ROSEWOOD a few weeks ago, the project had the unique opportunity to share its results with the EU forestry and wood community. For all who could not attend, this newsletter is for you! Find out more about the four innovation projects in wood mobilisation, which are officially supported by the ROSEWOOD Hub and pitched at the final conference. You can also read about the findings of the ROSEWOOD analysis on public spending in forestry in the EU as well as the project’s policy recommendations – another highlight of the conference.

Message from the ROSEWOOD Team
The last two years have been a blast for the ROSEWOOD network. The four Hubs for Regional Wood Mobilisation have grown from small saplings to branchy nodes – to ex-press it in the lingo of the sector. They now connect different streams of the wood value chain inside and outside of their region. And to further push for sustainable wood mobilization, the Hubs drafted roadmaps with recommendations for inter-regional knowledge transfer. If you have not them yet, make sure to do it now!
Last month, the Hub Managers presented the results of their work at the ROSEWOOD Final Conference and Forestry Innovation Workshop 2020! There was great and lively debate. For instance, Alvaro Picardo took a strong stance for more public funding to be spent on forest management, presenting the findings of the ROSEWOOD analysis on public resources in agriculture and forestry. Have a look at his presentation . You can also read about the main messages of his talk, along with further ROSEWOOD policy recommendations on pages 2 and 3.
Another highlight were the pitches of the supported by the ROSEWOOD Hubs. A few months back the Hubs organized so-called ‘Business Idea Creation’ workshops, at which different stakeholders brainstormed together ‘the next big thing’ in wood and forestry. Check out the ‘winning’ ideas whose owners pitched at the conference on pages 4 and 5.
Yes, ROSEWOOD concludes, but the story of the network does not end here. We continue our work in the framework of ROSEWOOD4.0. The project is also funded by H2020 with the clear goal to support the digital transformation of the sector. So, we say goodbye, for now, wishing you a terrific last read of the newsletter and hope to see you again in ROSEWOOD4.0.
