EDITORIAL

In February, we celebrated the first anniversary of the ROSEWOOD network and launched the Best Practice of the Month campaign. The campaign highlights the results of our in-depth analysis on the state-of-the-art of sustainable wood mobilisation in Europe. Each month an exemplary practice coming from a different country of the ROSEWOOD network is featured. Read more about the campaign and the best practices presented so far on page 6 and 7 of the newsletter.

The Best Practices are part of the ROSEWOOD Roadmaps, which outline for each region represented in the network strengths and shortcomings of the forestry/wood sector, while recommending targeted measures for a better and more sustainable valorization of regional wood resources. More on the roadmaps and how they pave the way for inter-regional knowledge transfer on page 8.

Furthermore, in this edition the ROSEWOOD regional Hub Managers reflect on the milestones achieved in the past twelve months, sharing the conclusions and ToDo’s they drew concerning the future of wood mobilisation in their region. Despite different foci in each region, the Hub Managers agree: The network has spread awareness and fostered significantly the exchange on sustainable wood mobilisation in the community. Read the entire interview on page 2.
