ROSEWOOD Final Conference and Forest Innovation Workshop 15th-16th January 2020 in Florence

The ROSEWOOD final conference is jointly organized with the Forest Innovation Workshop 2020 and presents the results of the ROSEWOOD Network knowledge exchange on sustainable wood mobilisation, which involved stakeholders of the forestry and wood community on the regional and international level for the past two years. The network will continue its activities, i.a. in the framework of ROSEWOOD4.0. The kick-off of the project, focusing on digital innovation in forestry and wood industries, will take place on 16th January.

The ROSEWOOD Final Conference and the Forest Innovation Workshop bring together experts, scientists, researchers and practitioners from the entire wood value chain from across Europe. The conference will present the ROSEWOOD Hubs' regional roadmaps for targeted transfer of best practices and innovations in sustainable wood mobilisation and put up for discussion its recommendations drawn from the network members' research on education, training and funding for the forestry and wood sector. Furthermore, the ROSEWOOD Hubs will introduce their innovation projects, a core outcome of the network's initiative on grass-root business idea creation and innovation enforcement in the sector. The 2020 edition of the Forest Innovation Workshop focuses on the following four thematic areas:

  1. Managing Impacts related to Climate Change;
  2. Supporting Wood and Biomass Mobilization;
  3. Supporting the Provision of Ecosystem Services;
  4. Improving Sustainable Forest Management Approaches and Tools.

The programme of the ROSEWOOD Final Conference and the Forest Innovation Workshop can be accessed via www.rosewood-network.eu/final-conference

Registration for the two-day conference is free-of-charge.

After the ROSEWOOD Final Conference participants are invited to also take part in the public kick-off of ROSEWOOD4.0. More information about the programme can be found here: https://bit.ly/2Pe3TlT
