La « Forêt Bouge » digitalises French forests
“La forêt bouge” is a digital tool at the service of the French private forest. It is a website dedicated to private forest owners and companies in the timber industry. It offers multiple services to initiate forest owners in their forest management. Its aim is to improve the mobilization of additional wood from small private forests. It can be easily reproduced in other countries thanks to common modules that can be adapted to different forest contexts (mapping, directory of professionals, wood prices, etc.). The tool is intended to be extensible and new functionalities can be integrated according to the territories’ requests. It can be adapted to the specific needs of each territory. Finally, access to the site is free of charge. http://www.laforetbouge.fr/
ROSEWOOD selected this best practice as it demonstrates how digitalisation can support private forest owners in managing their forests. The tool facilitates connections of forest owners with timber buying companies, contributing to enhance wood utilisation from small-scale forests lot.
